Experience Tanzania’s spectacular wildlife and rich culture on this 6-day midrange safari. This adventure combines world-class game drives, stunning landscapes, and immersive cultural experiences with the Maasai and Hadzabe tribes.
Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire or Lake Manyara National Park
Depart from Arusha after breakfast to either Tarangire National Park or Lake Manyara National Park.
Tarangire: Enjoy game drives across golden savannahs, spot elephants, zebras, lions, and other wildlife along the Tarangire River. Picnic lunch by the river.
Lake Manyara: Explore tree-climbing lions, flamingos, and diverse birdlife. Stop at Mto Wa Mbu village market for souvenirs.
Evening: Check-in at Country Lodge Karatu (FB), surrounded by lush gardens and scenic highlands.
Day 2: Tarangire/Lake Manyara – Serengeti National Park
Early breakfast and scenic drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Optional stops:
- Oldupai Gorge Museum – explore human evolutionary history.
- Maasai Boma Visit – experience traditional dance and village life.
Afternoon: Game drive in Serengeti National Park. Observe lions, leopards, elephants, and herds of wildebeest and zebra.
Overnight at Thorntree Camp (FB) in Seronera Valley.
Day 3: Central Serengeti – Full Day Game Drive
Early morning sunrise game drive to witness predators hunting and observe the morning activity of herbivores.
Optional: Hot air balloon safari with champagne breakfast (additional cost).
Continue with midday and afternoon game drives, maximizing wildlife spotting based on season and migration patterns.
Overnight at Thorntree Camp (FB).
Day 4: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Breakfast and scenic drive through the Serengeti en route to Ngorongoro Crater.
Wildlife spotting along the way: cheetahs, lions, zebras, wildebeest, giraffes, and elephants.
Overnight at Ngorongoro Rhino Lodge (FB), perched on the crater rim with panoramic views and comfortable amenities.
Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater – Lake Eyasi
Full-day game drive in Ngorongoro Crater, spotting the Big Five, hippos, and flamingos.
Picnic lunch within the park.
Afternoon transfer to Lake Eyasi, home of the Hadzabe tribe. Optional cultural visit to the Datooga people.
Overnight at Lake Eyasi Safari Lodge (FB) with lake-view rooms and immersive cultural experiences.
Day 6: Lake Eyasi – Hadzabe Hunting Experience – Arusha
Early morning visit to the Hadzabe tribe to witness traditional hunting techniques.
Learn about their lifestyle and survival methods in a symbiotic relationship with nature.
Return to Arusha after a scenic drive along the Rift Valley, concluding your safari.
