Day 1 – Arrival in Bujumbura
Upon arrival at Melchior Ndadaye International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your professional Feather Trail Safaris guide who will assist you with your luggage and transfer you to your hotel.
As you drive through Bujumbura, you will get your first impressions of Burundi — a lively city set along the shores of Lake Tanganyika. Depending on your arrival time, you may relax at the hotel, enjoy the lake breeze, or take a short walk nearby. Your guide will brief you about the journey ahead, ensuring you are well prepared for the adventure.

Day 2 – Teza Tea Plantations & Cultural Experience
After breakfast, begin your journey northwards toward the scenic Teza Tea Plantations, located near Kibira National Park. As you ascend into the highlands, the air becomes cooler and fresher, and the landscape transforms into endless rolling green hills covered with tea fields.
You will take a guided walk through the plantations, learning about tea cultivation and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. A short nature hike in the nearby forest offers opportunities to spot birds and enjoy the rich biodiversity of the region.
