Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival in Entebbe
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by a Feather Trail Safaris representative and transferred to your hotel near the shores of Lake Victoria. Depending on your arrival time, the remainder of the day is free to relax and recover from your international journey while enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of Entebbe.

Day 2 – Transfer to Kibale National Park
After breakfast, begin your scenic drive westward toward Kibale National Park. The journey passes through picturesque countryside, traditional villages, tea plantations, and rolling hills, offering an excellent introduction to Uganda’s diverse landscapes.
Arrival is in the afternoon at your forest lodge near Kibale, where you can relax and enjoy the tranquil surroundings in preparation for the next day’s primate experience.

Day 3 – Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale Forest
After an early breakfast, proceed to the park headquarters for briefing before entering the rainforest for chimpanzee tracking. Kibale Forest is home to the highest concentration of primates in East Africa, and the experience of following habituated chimpanzees through the forest is both exciting and rewarding.

After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, travelers may choose to enjoy an optional guided walk through the nearby Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, known for birdlife, monkeys, and community-based conservation experiences.

Day 4 – Kibale to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Following breakfast, depart Kibale and continue southwest toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The journey takes you through scenic highlands, rural communities, and beautiful mountain landscapes before arriving in the Buhoma sector of Bwindi Forest.

Upon arrival, settle into your lodge overlooking the forest and prepare for the highlight of your safari, mountain gorilla trekking.

Day 5 – Gorilla Trekking Experience in Bwindi
Today is dedicated to one of Africa’s most extraordinary wildlife encounters. After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for briefing before entering the dense rainforest of Bwindi with experienced rangers and trackers.
The trek can take several hours depending on the location of the gorilla family, but the reward is an unforgettable one-hour encounter observing mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Watching these gentle giants interact within the forest is a deeply moving and life-changing experience.

In the afternoon, travelers may choose to participate in an optional Batwa cultural experience to learn about the indigenous forest communities that once lived within Bwindi Forest.

Day 6 – Bwindi to Entebbe
After breakfast, begin the return journey to Entebbe. The drive offers additional scenic views of Uganda’s countryside, local towns, and agricultural landscapes along the way.
Arrival is in the evening, where you check in at your hotel near Lake Victoria for a relaxing final night before departure.

Permits for gorilla trekking and chimpanzee tracking are subject to availability at the time of booking. Gorilla permits are highly limited and often sell out months in advance, especially during peak travel seasons. Early reservation is therefore strongly recommended.
