Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival in Entebbe & Transfer to Jinja
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your Feather Trail Safaris guide and transferred to Jinja, Uganda’s adventure capital and home of the River Nile. The journey offers a gentle introduction to Uganda’s landscapes and local life before arriving at your riverside resort. The remainder of the day is reserved for relaxation while enjoying beautiful Nile views and the peaceful atmosphere of the lodge.

Day 2 – Leisure & Optional Nile Activities in Jinja
Today is dedicated to relaxation and optional family-friendly activities around the Nile River. Travelers may choose to enjoy boat cruises, cultural visits, or adventure experiences such as white-water rafting, kayaking, or quad biking depending on interest levels. Jinja also offers opportunities to experience local markets, riverside cafés, and scenic viewpoints.

This flexible day allows families to enjoy Uganda at their own pace while taking in the vibrant atmosphere of the Nile region.

Day 3 – Scenic Transfer to Fort Portal
After breakfast, depart Jinja and begin a scenic journey westward toward the beautiful crater lake region surrounding Fort Portal. The drive passes through tea plantations, rolling hills, and rural communities, offering excellent views of Uganda’s countryside.
Upon arrival, the remainder of the day is free for relaxation and cultural interaction with local friends and communities.

Day 4 – Leisure & Cultural Experiences in Fort Portal
Today is free to enjoy the scenic surroundings of Fort Portal at a relaxed pace. Optional activities may include visits to crater lakes, local markets, nearby hot springs, or guided town walks. Day 6 – Final Day in Fort Portal Region
Today remains flexible for additional exploration or leisure before continuing into Uganda’s premier wildlife regions. Optional visits can include scenic crater viewpoints, cultural encounters, or nearby community experiences.

Day 7 – Fort Portal to Murchison Falls National Park
After breakfast, depart western Uganda and journey north toward Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest and most famous national park. Arrival is in the afternoon at your lodge located near the Nile River, where you can relax and enjoy the natural surroundings before the safari activities begin.

Day 8 – Boat Safari to the Base of Murchison Falls
Today begins with a scenic boat cruise along the Nile River toward the base of the powerful Murchison Falls. Along the riverbanks, expect sightings of hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffalo, and numerous bird species. As the Nile narrows dramatically through a narrow gorge, the thunderous falls create one of Uganda’s most spectacular natural attractions.

The afternoon is left free for relaxation at the lodge or optional nature activities.

Day 9 – Game Drive & Family Adventure Activities
After an early breakfast, embark on a morning game drive through the savannah plains of Murchison Falls National Park in search of lions, giraffes, elephants, antelope, buffalo, and other wildlife species.
In the afternoon, travelers may enjoy optional family-friendly activities around the lodge, including guided nature walks or adventure experiences.

Day 10 – Chimpanzee Tracking in Budongo Forest
Today offers an exciting chimpanzee tracking experience in the nearby Budongo Forest Reserve. The remainder of the day is reserved for relaxation at the lodge.

Day 11 – Murchison Falls to Kampala
After breakfast, depart Murchison Falls National Park and return to Kampala. En route, enjoy scenic countryside views and occasional wildlife sightings as you travel southward.

Day 12 – Kampala City & Cultural Tour
Today is dedicated to exploring the cultural and historical highlights of Kampala. The guided city experience includes visits to landmarks such as the Uganda National Mosque, Bahá’í Temple, local crafts markets, and downtown Kampala, providing insight into Uganda’s history, traditions, and urban life.

The afternoon offers free time for relaxation or optional shopping.

Day 13 – Entebbe Excursion & Lake Victoria Experience
After breakfast, transfer to Entebbe located on the shores of Lake Victoria. Depending on interests, travelers may choose optional activities including a Shoebill birding excursion, a visit to the Entebbe Botanical Gardens, or lakeside relaxation.
The evening is spent enjoying the calm atmosphere of Entebbe before departure.
