Detailed Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival in Bujumbura & City Discovery

Upon arrival at Melchior Ndadaye International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your professional Feather Trail Safaris guide and transferred to Hotel Club du Lac Tanganyika, a charming lakeside hotel set along the shores of Lake Tanganyika.

As you settle in, you will immediately feel the relaxed atmosphere of Burundi’s capital, where the lake breeze and tropical surroundings create a welcoming environment.

Depending on your arrival time, you will enjoy a short city tour of Bujumbura. This introductory experience allows you to explore key historical monuments and landmarks while gaining insight into the country’s culture, traditions, and daily life. Your guide will provide context and stories that bring the city to life, offering a meaningful start to your journey.

After the tour, return to your hotel to relax and prepare for the adventures ahead.

Day 2 – Nature & Culture

After breakfast, your day begins with a relaxing boat cruise along the Rusizi River in Rusizi National Park. The cost of this 4-day Burundi experience varies depending on the group size. For a solo traveler, the rate is 2,300 USD.

Groups of 4 travelers, the price is 1,200 USD per person, while 6 travelers pay 950 USD per person. For larger groups of 10 travelers, the rate is 850 USD.
