Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by your Feather Trail Safari guide and transferred to your hotel. Depending on traffic, the drive may take 15 to 40 minutes. After settling in, spend the evening relaxing and preparing for the adventure ahead. Overnight at The Boma Hotel.
Day 2: Murchison Falls National Park
Today you will drive to Murchison Falls National Park, stopping at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to see Uganda’s reintroduced white rhinos. Continue to the park for a game drive, spotting lions, elephants, buffalo, Rothschild giraffes, and other wildlife. If time allows, visit the Top of the Falls, where the mighty Nile narrows and plunges 45 meters, creating a spectacular sight. Overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge.

Day 3: Boat Safari and Game Drive
Begin the day with an early morning game drive, exploring the park’s wildlife and birdlife. After lunch at the lodge, embark on a boat safari at the base of Murchison Falls. Witness hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and a variety of birds along the Nile. Return to the lodge to relax for the evening. Overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge.
Day 4: Drive to Kibale Forest National Park
Depart for Kibale Forest National Park via Hoima, traveling through scenic landscapes. Kibale is home to 13 primate species and over 335 bird species. Check in at Kibale Primate Lodge, conveniently located near the chimpanzee trekking starting point. Overnight at Primate Lodge.
Day 5: Chimpanzee Tracking and Bigodi Wetlands
After breakfast, report to the ranger station for a chimpanzee trekking adventure in Kibale Forest. Observe these remarkable primates in their natural habitat, along with other forest inhabitants such as red colobus monkeys, L’Hoest monkeys, and baboons. In the afternoon, visit the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary to enjoy birdwatching, wildlife, and the rare semi-aquatic Sitatunga antelope. Overnight at Primate Lodge.

Day 6: Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Travel through Kasese towards Queen Elizabeth National Park, located at the foot of the Rift Valley. On the way, spot wildlife including elephants and buffalo, with the Rwenzori Mountains on the horizon. Stay at Katara Lodge, perched on Kichwamba Ridge, offering breathtaking views over the Rift Valley and the distant Virunga volcanoes. Overnight at Katara Lodge.
Day 7: Game Drive and Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise
Start the day with an early morning game drive in the Kasenyi sector, known for lions, antelopes, warthogs, and baboons. Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat safari on the Kazinga Channel, where hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and over 100 bird species can be observed. Overnight at Katara Lodge or Mweya Lodge.
Day 8: Kyambura Gorge Hiking
Hike through Kyambura Gorge to see chimpanzees, black-and-white colobus monkeys, and other wildlife. Explore caves and the Twin Lakes, enjoying the scenic beauty and tranquility of this unique gorge. Overnight at Katara Lodge or Mweya Lodge.
Day 9: Transfer to Rwanda
Leave Queen Elizabeth National Park and drive south to the Ugandan-Rwandan border at Kabale. Cross into Rwanda and continue to Volcanoes National Park, enjoying views of the Virunga volcanoes. Overnight at Gorilla Nest Lodge, preparing for gorilla trekking.
Day 10: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
After an early breakfast, report to the ranger station for gorilla trekking. Trek through the forest for 3–6 hours to observe mountain gorillas in their natural habitat, accompanied by experienced guides. Optional visit to Iby’iwacu Cultural Village to learn about local traditions. Overnight at Gorilla Nest Lodge.

Day 11: Lake Bunyonyi
Return to Uganda and drive to Lake Bunyonyi, renowned for its 22 islands, abundant birdlife, and canoeing opportunities. Enjoy a picnic lunch en route and explore the area on foot or photograph the islands from elevated viewpoints. Overnight at Bird’s Nest Lodge.
Day 12: Lake Mburo National Park
Drive to Lake Mburo National Park, traveling through the highlands of Kabale, known as the “Switzerland of Africa.” Check in at Rwakobo Rock Lodge, nestled close to the park and offering privacy, comfort, and sunset views. Overnight at Rwakobo Rock Lodge.
Day 13: Lake Mburo Safari
Experience a walking safari in Lake Mburo to see zebras, impala, eland, oribi, hippos, and over 350 bird species. Optional afternoon boat ride or evening nocturnal game drive to spot elusive nocturnal wildlife. Overnight at Rwakobo Rock Lodge.

Day 14: Departure
After breakfast, begin the journey back to Entebbe, stopping at the Equator for photos and a picnic lunch. Your Feather Trail Safari guide will transfer you to Entebbe International Airport for departure, concluding a memorable East African adventure.
