Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Journey to the Wild – Kololo to Queen Elizabeth NP
Begin with a drive from Kololo via the Uganda Equator for a photo stop and demonstration. Continue to Mbarara for lunch at Igongo Cultural Centre, followed by a cultural storytelling experience. Proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park for check-in and relaxation.
Overnight: Mweya Safari Lodge (Superior & Deluxe Kazinga Channel view rooms)
Day 2: Big Game & Boat Safari on the Kazinga Channel
Morning game drive to spot lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, and birds. Enjoy a bush breakfast in the wild. Afternoon private boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, famous for hippos, crocodiles, and countless bird species.

Day 3: Exclusive Off-Road Wildlife Experience
Set out on an early morning off-road game drive focused on lions and leopards. Vehicles are allowed off-road for close encounters. Activity concludes by 11:00 AM, followed by a relaxed afternoon at the lodge.

Day 4: Transfer to Rwenzori Base – Start of the Hike
After breakfast, depart for Kasese and proceed to Trekkers Hostel Kilembe. Meet guides and porters, receive a briefing, and begin your trek. Expect sightings of monkeys, Colobus, and birdlife. Enock Falls offers a scenic stop.
Overnight: Wooden cabins at Sine Camp (2,596m) | Ascent: +1,146m | Distance: 9.5km | Duration: 5–7 hrs
Day 5: Sine Camp to Mutinda Camp (3,588m)
Trek through bamboo and heather zones to Kalalama Camp for a break, then continue via mossy river valleys and waterfalls. Optional acclimatization hike to Mutinda Lookout (3,975m).

Day 6: Mutinda to Bugata Camp (4,100m)
Cross Mutinda bog, climb into Namusangi Valley, and enjoy views of waterfalls and alpine vegetation. Ideal acclimatization stop.

Day 7: Bugata to Hunwick’s Camp (3,974m)
Climb Bamwanjarra Pass (4,450m) for stunning views of Mt. Stanley, Baker, and Weismann. Descend through bogs and lobelia zones to Hunwick’s Camp.
Overnight: Hunwick’s Camp | Gain/Loss: +457m / -87m | Distance: 8.3km | Duration: 7–9 hrs
Day 8: Hunwick’s to Margherita Camp (4,485m)
Descend to Lake Kitandara, then ascend Scott-Elliott’s Pass. Arrive at Margherita Camp, the base for your summit attempt.

Day 9: Summit Cheptegei Peak (4,907m)
Start early (4:30–5:30 AM). Cross Stanley Glacier, scramble to the summit with ropes for safety. Enjoy panoramic views of Congo and surrounding peaks. Descend to Margherita Camp.
Overnight: Margherita Camp | Ascent/Descent: +422m / -422m | Distance: ~4km | Duration: 6–8 hrs
Day 10: Descend to Hunwick’s Camp (3,874m)
Steady descent after the summit climb for rest and recovery. Scenic day.
Overnight: Hunwick’s Camp | Descent: -933m | Distance: 7.1km | Duration: 3–4 hrs
Day 11: Hunwick’s to Kiharo Camp (3,430m)
Climb Olivers Pass (4,505m), descend through glacier valleys to Kiharo, known for alpine flora and geology.
Overnight: Kiharo Camp | Ascent/Descent: +530m / -1,075m | Distance: 15.8km | Duration: 9–12 hrs
Day 12: Final Descent to Basecamp (1,450m)
Descend Nyamwamba Valley with waterfalls, mossy rocks, and lush forest. A spectacular end to your trek. Transfer to Fort Portal.
Overnight: Mountains of the Moon Hotel (Deluxe Room) | Descent: -1,980m | Distance: 16km | Duration: 7–8 hrs
Day 13: Semliki Hot Springs & Toro Cultural Tour
Drive to Semliki National Park to view the hot springs. Lunch at the hotel. Afternoon visit to Amabeere Ga Nyina Mwiru, linked to Toro Kingdom heritage. Return to the hotel for relaxation.
Overnight: Mountains of the Moon Hotel
Day 14: Return to Kampala
Drive back via Mubende and Mityana. Arrive in Kololo by evening. End of safari and trek.
