Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 | Arrival in Nairobi – Transfer to Maasai Mara
Upon arrival in Nairobi, you will be warmly welcomed by a representative from Feather Trail Safaris and begin your journey towards the world-renowned Maasai Mara National Reserve. The drive offers a scenic introduction to Kenya’s diverse landscapes, including views of the Great Rift Valley.
Arrive at your luxury tented camp in time to relax and soak in the natural surroundings before dinner.

Day 2 | Full-Day Safari in Maasai Mara
Spend a full day exploring the Maasai Mara, one of Africa’s richest wildlife ecosystems. The reserve is home to the Big Five, lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo, and rhino, as well as cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, and vast herds of antelope.
Game drives are conducted in comfortable 4×4 safari vehicles, ensuring excellent wildlife viewing opportunities throughout the day.

Optional Experience: Sunrise hot air balloon safari followed by a bush breakfast.

Day 3 | Maasai Mara – Cultural Visit – Nairobi
After breakfast, visit a traditional Maasai village where you will gain insight into the customs, traditions, and daily life of the Maasai people. This enriching cultural experience offers a deeper understanding of one of Africa’s most iconic communities.

Later, travel to Nairobi with scenic stops along the Great Rift Valley, arriving in the afternoon.

Day 4 | Nairobi City Experience – Flight to Entebbe
Explore Nairobi with visits to key attractions such as Nairobi National Park, the Giraffe Centre, and local craft markets. Later, transfer to the airport for your flight to Entebbe, Uganda.
Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel for relaxation.

Day 5 | Entebbe – Kampala City & Cultural Experience
After breakfast, travel to Kampala with a stop along the shores of Lake Victoria. Enjoy a guided city tour including historical and cultural landmarks.
In the evening, experience Uganda’s rich heritage through music, dance, and storytelling at the Ndere Cultural Centre.

Day 6 | Flight to Bwindi – Community Experience
Transfer to the airport for a scenic domestic flight to southwestern Uganda. Upon arrival, continue to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

In the afternoon, engage in a community walk and interact with the Batwa people, learning about their traditional forest lifestyle and culture.

Day 7 | Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest
Today marks the highlight of your safari. After an early briefing, embark on a guided trek into the dense rainforest in search of a habituated gorilla family.

Once found, you will spend one magical hour observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat—an experience that is both humbling and unforgettable.

Day 8 | Bwindi – Lake Mburo National Park
After breakfast, journey to Lake Mburo National Park, a beautiful savannah reserve known for its zebras, giraffes, and diverse birdlife.

In the afternoon, enjoy a relaxing boat safari on Lake Mburo, offering close encounters with hippos, crocodiles, and aquatic birds.

Day 9 | Lake Mburo – Entebbe Departure

The Gorilla Tracking included in this safari depends on the availability of gorilla trekking permits at the time of booking. These permits are strictly limited and sold out in advance, especially during peak seasons of Christmas and school holidays. We therefore strongly recommend booking early.
